It’s no secret that I love TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior). Before this summer I would have told you I couldn’t love it more. This was before I spent a week at the TAB Institute. I’m busy there - I co-direct it with my friend Jen Rankey Zona, but I kept finding myself drawn to the Studio. It made me think about the students who are drawn to my studio classroom and about how it feels to be a student in a TAB environment. The following is a reflection on how it felt to me, to work as an artist in a TAB Studio.

This is what we do for so many of our students. We empower them to create through the welcoming studio spaces we curate and with our knowledge, support, and guidance. In a world of standardized tests, it’s essential work.
Thank you to JRZ, Julie, Clark, Clyde, Stacey, Jean, Kathy, the TAB Board, and MassArt for a magical week!
Thanks for sharing your joy!! It’s contagious ☺️😄💖!!
Love this!!! Exactly how I felt being in the Studio Cohort at "TAB CAMP" aka TAB Institute at MassArt in Boston.
