The SchoolArts Choice Issue
I got my copy of SchoolArts this week and it’s excellent, as always. However, this month’s issue is special for two reasons: it was guest-edited by my buddy, the amazing Clyde Gaw and it’s dedicated to Choice. Read on for a summary of some of the excellent articles and a link to read the issue for free online.
On the cover is a beautiful image by contemporary artist Jen Stark, who is featured inside. Clyde Gaw wrote an excellent introduction as guest editor and an article about his famous Papier Smache.
Jill Hogan wrote a wonderful piece on the history of TAB.
I wrote an article that describes how I use goal setting combined with defining and teaching about different types of work to structure Choice. In the article, I wrote about a student doing excellent, focused work with gouache and all the improvement she made. However, the semester wasn’t over and she continued to grow and improve on the goals she set for herself.
